Who’s hiring at YYZ? August Edition

1. Host/Hostess
Employer: SSP Canada

Role: SSP Canada operates more than 30 restaurants at Pearson, including Boccone, Distillery Food Hall, Tap & Pour and Urban Crave. As a Host/Hostess, you’ll be the first face customers see. You’ll provide a friendly greeting, seat customers, present menus and answer questions.

Key requirements: You’ll have at least six months’ experience working in food service or retail, a valid food handler certification and excellent communication and customer service skills.

2. Security Guard (Part-Time)
Employer: GardaWorld

Role: Working on a flexible schedule, you’ll help keep Pearson secure by controlling access to restricted areas. You’ll respond to alarms and assist in emergencies. You’ll also help direct and escort passengers.

Key requirements: You’ll need a valid security guard license and first aid card, at least one year of customer service experience, a high-school diploma and a clean criminal record.

3. Departure Control & Facilitation Administrator
Employer: Sunwing Vacations

Role: You’ll help keep Sunwing’s flights running smoothly by ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Duties include: Monitoring secure flight data, ensuring compliance with passenger information regulations, engaging with frontline airport staff, ensuring data and reports are correctly input into various systems.  

Key requirements: You’ll need experience of airline operations and must be able to obtain Transport Canada security clearance. You must be willing to work on a rotating 24/7 schedule. Ability to speak French or Spanish is an asset.

4. Guest Services Supervisor
Employer: TownePlace Suites

Role: You’ll oversee the daily operations of the front desk, ensuring that guests’ first impressions of the hotel are good. You’ll supervise registration and checkout, train team members, act as a role model for customer service quality and help resolve any issues that arise.

Key requirements: Previous supervisory experience is preferred. You must have great communication and leadership skills and thrive in a high-pressure environment. You must also be willing to work a rotating shift pattern that includes days, nights, weekends and holidays.

5. Manager, Digital Business
Employer: Greater Toronto Airports Authority

Role: You’ll drive delivery of new business experiences that seamlessly blend the physical and digital worlds. You’ll identify opportunities, develop product roadmaps and lead on making projects a reality. You’ll also help your team grow their skills through coaching and providing regular feedback.

Key requirements: You’ll have five to 10 years’ experience of creating omnichannel retail experiences and leading teams, and at least three years’ experience of project or program delivery. You’ll have a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as business or marketing, and you’ll also have an Ontario class G driver’s license.
