Who’s hiring at YYZ? July Edition

1. Food Service Associate
Employer: SSP Canada

Role: This opening is suitable for someone looking to start their culinary career. SSP Canada operates 30 restaurants at Pearson, including Tim Hortons, Mill Street, and Wahlburgers.

Key requirements: You’ll need a food handler’s permit, good communications skills, and basic math skills. A high-school diploma and one year of food service experience is preferred. You must also be able to operate point-of-sale systems and stand to work in confined spaces for long periods.

2. Floor Care Specialist
Employer: Dexterra

Role: Working as part of Dexterra’s Special Services Crew, you’ll ensure that floor care programs are delivered as part of preventative maintenance plans.

Key requirements: Experience in cleaning hard surfaces, carpets and upholstery as well as floor refinishing. You need a G driver’s licence and have to be okay with working nights and irregular hours, as well as working in confined spaces.

3. Country Supply Chain Planning and Purchasing Specialist
Employer: HMSHost

Role: You will be responsible for inventory planning, purchasing, and replenishment to HMSHost’s North American Duty Free operations. You’ll help drive sales by maintaining the automated replenishment system and ensuring optimal inventory levels.

Key requirements: You’ll need at least five years of supply chain and logistics planning experience, or at least two years with a related bachelor’s degree. You’ll need to demonstrate your business acumen and show you think long-term in meeting organizational goals.

4. Manager, Capture and Proposal, Defense
Employer: Bombardier

Role: The Bombardier Defense team is developing variants of its Challenger and Global aircraft platforms for special missions including medical evacuation, transporting heads of state, and aerial surveillance. In this role, you will lead a team of program managers to execute multi-million-dollar multi-year programs.

Key requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10 years’ experience in program management. You have strong technical knowledge of aircraft and special mission equipment. Previous government or military experience is an asset. You must be eligible to receive NATO secret security clearance.

5. Manager, Controls Engineer
Employer: Greater Toronto Airports Authority

Role: You will lead an Operational Technology team for safe and efficient control systems use. You will support the GTAA’s strategic plan for airport transformation through efficiency, innovation, and regulatory compliance. You will prioritize asset restoration, resilience, Operational Technology cybersecurity, and provide SME support for project delivery and infrastructure teams. You will oversee all GTAA control systems and cybersecurity standards, ensuring effective implementation and compliance.

Key requirements: You’ll have completed Grade 12 or equivalent with a combined 8+ yearsof experience in engineering and project management, with a preference for Professional Engineers Ontario designees. In addition, 8+ years of functional work experience in fields like mechanical/electrical engineering or project management, and 3+ years in people management are required. Experience in a customer-centric environment is a must.
