Introducing the Canadian Airports Accessibility Training Program

We are excited to announce the launch of the Canadian Airports Accessibility Training Program (CAAT), which is now LIVE! The CAAT course is an optional training that aims to teach airport workers across Canada how to make passengers’ travel experience more accessible and enjoyable, particularly for travellers with disabilities. This program is the result of collaboration between Canadian airports nationwide, including Toronto Pearson.

The CAAT program demonstrates Toronto Pearson’s ongoing commitment to making our airport the most accessible airport in the world by providing passengers with disabilities an inclusive and welcoming environment. This program will equip our employees with all the necessary knowledge and skills to assist passengers with disabilities, thereby improving their travel journey.

The CAAT program offers the following benefits:

United approach: Employees will receive the same knowledge across all Canadian airports, ensuring a consistent level of assistance to passengers with disabilities.

Compliance with federal standards: This course adheres to the latest requirement set by Transport Canada and the Canadian Transportation Agency.

Focus on accessibility and inclusivity: This training program will highlight the importance of improving travel for passengers with disabilities.

The CAAT program is an optional course that is now available in English and French here.

We strongly encourage our employees to participate in this program as this will help us to become part of a significant movement towards inclusivity and a step forward in making YYZ the most accessible airport.
